Goodbye, 2017! Year In Review

And just like that, this year is over. 2017 has been one of the best years of my life and looking back, all I can say is, "DAMN GIRL! YOU. DID. THAT. SHIT." 👏
This year I've pushed myself and exceeded almost all of the goals I have set. Every day, I started my morning with good intentions and ended my night with positive reflections. And this, my friends, has made the biggest impact in my life. Positivity and gratefulness. (BTW This Ted Talk is amazing)

What I Did This Year

  • Strengthened My Voice - Whether at work or in my personal life, I've made a point to change how I let others treat or think of me by simply speaking up. I've said no to a lot of things that I would usually say yes to. I've also been more vocal in my relationship and felt more comfortable sharing my feelings (major key).
  • Said "Yes!" - I don't usually turn down many things, but one thing I never would do is public speaking. No ma'am. Public speaking just wasn't for me. I can sit in front of a camera, upload it for the world to see and be completely fine, but as soon as I have to speak to more than 5 people I freeze up. This year I spoke not only on numerous client calls and to a room full of charity volunteers explaining social media, but to my CEO, Chairman, President and alllllll of the executives at my company. Yeah, they were all in one room at the same time looking up at little ol' me. That was the most terrifying moment of my life, but I did it and I lived.
  • Traveled - I WENT OUT OF THE COUNTRY! On a whim, Quinton and I booked a week stay in beautiful Santorini and Athens, Greece. That vacation was a dream and definitely sparked my wanderlust. I went to NYC for the first time ever and it was amazing. I walked from Broadway to Chelsea in the snow by myself and enjoyed every moment. It was romantic.
  • Loved Harder - Sounds TMI, but I've always had an issue with this. My relationships never lasted longer than 2 years. Partly because of me and my inability to be content. This year I made an effort to love my significant other, family and friends harder. Cherish the little moments we have together and say I love you.

2018 Goals

  • Grow My Content - I've been blogging for the past 4 years now and feel like I don't have much to show for it. I've been the worst at posting and connecting with my content so this year I want to start and end on a high note. The same goes for my YouTube channel. Creating content was a passion of mine and I should it remain that way.
  • Practice Self Care - That was a big topic this year and it never quite made my to-do list. Healthy and wellness is important not only physically, but mentally. Expect to see some posts on my progress.
  • Save and Invest - I have long-term 5- and 10-year goals that require me starting to save now so that I'm not scrambling later. Now that Quinton and I are moved in together, I'm able to save up more money each month while also investing in better equipment, etc.. I have an end-of-year goal that I'm looking forward to crushing.

What are your new years goals?
