Product Review: Shea Moisture
I know, I know. I am late on the game. Other natural hair bloggers have already given their opinions on the Shea Moisture SuperFruit Complex line, but I've been staying away from my usual product hording habits, therefore this product is new to me.
If you're a natural hair babe, you are well aware of the Shea Moisture line. Their products are organic, cruelty free, and extremely beneficial for your hair. I first started to use the brand when I began transitioning and have been using the same products ever since.
Let me just begin by saying that this product is AMAZING! It managed to melt my curls and help aid in the detangling process. I used it after thoroughly washing with the As I Am cleansing pudding. I needed a deep clean after using Shea butter heavy products for two weeks. I then applied the masque directly after rinsing and left it on for an hour. The directions state 30 minutes, but I didn't use it under a steamer or hair dryer, so I left it on longer. I was too tired for a twist out, so I put my hair in a bun.
The SuperFruit Complex line is rich in antioxidants which helps to renew dry, brittle hair. I purchased this product because it contains biotin and Marula Oil, an oil that has higher antioxidant levels than Argan oil. The company states that is will "counteract signs of aging." I'm not really sure, but after another month of using it, I'll be sure to update you with more thoughts.
