Music Festival Fashion Basics

Hello, hello! I'm back after a much-needed breakaway. Awhile ago a lovely reader asked if I could share outfit inspiration for festivals and amusement parks. I didn't forget about you. :) I actually filmed a look book, but I hated how it turned out. Blogger probs. My last post, How to Survive Music Festival Season, never explained fashion choices, which I think is the most important part. Coachella is known for their fashion. Mainly due to a number of celebs who attend and also because of the freaking hot weather in the Indo valley. Coachella might be over, but there are loads of other festivals to attend.

Finding an outfit that's proper for these events can be a battle. Not only are you outside for a long portion of time, you're also on your feet with little rest. I've created three different outfits for the occasion that are both functional and fashion forward. I actually wish all three were in my closet right now. Especially that kimono. Possible DIY maybe? Hmmm...

keep it comfy

I'm the kind of gal that chooses comfort before anything else. I definitely will not be uncomfortable for hours in a day. My experience from Counterpoint, Music Midtown and numerous trips to Six Flags and Disney, and Kings Dominion has proven that flats and sneakers are always the best options. I prefer wearing sneakers, I love these Vans hi-tops, but any type of sneaker will do. If you're feeling bold and want to wear heels, try a platform. These will still give you height but aren't bad on your feet. Sandals are a great option too, just be mindful that some flats can hurt your arch if you're not flat-footed.

keep it loose

You're going to sweat. Wear loose fitted clothing to prevent overheating. Crop-tops, no matter how much you despise them, are perfect. The less amount of clothing you have on will help you out in the long run. If you live in a northern climate, bring a sweater or jacket with you as it gets colder when the sun goes down. Also, top knots and ponytails are perfect to keep your hair off of your neck as you sweat during the day.

keep the rompers and jumpsuits at home

Do not ever wear a romper to a music festival or amusement park. Why may you ask? Port-a-potties and wedgies.

keep jewelry to a minimum

Losing your expensive jewels in a busy place is horrible. You're most likely not going to find it, especially if it happens to fall off of a ride at night. If I want to still look pulled together, I run to
the nearest Forever 21 and stock up on cute and cheap rings, necklaces and bracelets. $1.20 bracelet? Yes, please!

keep you hater blockers on

Sunglasses are so important when you're out in the sun. Since we don't have sunscreen for your eyes, sunglasses are the best option. I try to find glasses with UVA and  UVB light protection. UV 400 will help protect extreme light rays.

Hopefully, this post helps all of you that are going to your first festival or amusement park this summer. Are you going to a music festival soon? I'm thinking about going to Music Midtown. not sure yet.

Catch you all on my next one.
