Cozy Sweaters & Even Better Perspectives

There's nothing better than how you feel at the beginning of the new year. You're optimistic, motivated, and most of all, you're excited. You're on such a high that you feel that you'll never come down. But instead of falling flat by March, we should want that feeling to last for the rest of year. Here's my three big life changing perspectives I'm focusing on this year:

1. Not Holding On To Fear

I'm normally the cup half empty kind of girl, but lately, half full has made me pretty happy. I've always worried about what can go wrong which has prevented me from taking that giant leap. There are so many "what-if's" in my anxiety-filled head. Over the last year and a half I decided to not let fear take over my life. I took the plunge by quitting that job I hated and saying yes to things I normally wouldn't. You can only live your life one day at a time so you better make the most of it.

2.  Celebrate Little Victories

We often celebrate the big wins in our life such as new job or buying our first house. But what about those tiny successes that are worth the praise? I believe that celebrating those tiny accomplishments will bring even more into your life. Everyday we make a to-do list filled with goals. Once you check them off your list, you throw your list away and start over the next day. This year I'm taking the time to do my happy dance each and every time I've checked something off on my to-do list. A new subscriber on YouTube? Deserves a happy dance. Finished folding all of my clothes? You bet I'm going to pop-lock-and-drop-it. Pre-filmed and edited some videos? Ya girl deserves some Starbucks!

Celebrating keeps you motivated as you'll notice you're one step closer to achieving your goals. It' also makes you happy and who doesn't want to be happy?

3. Stop Comparing Yourself To Others

I struggle with this one hard. Every little thing I do all boils down to how others look think of me or if what I'm doing is acceptable. From celebrities to coworkers, I've looked at their accomplishments as a benchmark to my own. This year I won't compare myself to others. I'm my own person with my own accomplishments. I'm happy with who I am and where I am in life. I also understand that my timing is different than everyone else's.
